Term ONE highlights (2)

In Week 6 we had Debbie from Zero Waste come to visit.  She taught us about the benefits of compost and by the end of the week we had created our own mini composts in milk bottles.

In Week 8, we had Bike Week.  This week we learnt how to ride a bike safely, how to make a bike safety check, and about the importance of wearing a correctly fastened helmet.  The Year 6 students will soon be receiving bike licences allowing them to ride on the road!  What a healthy way to travel to school!

On Sunday 18 March, our Top Schools team and cheerleaders travelled to Pongakawa for the annual Top Schools Competition.  This was a fantastic day and both our team and cheerleaders did us proud!  Well done to everyone who took part!

Term ONE update (1)

Wow it has been a busy term for the Unstoppables this term!

-

Here are some highlights:

We have held our school swimming sports during week four. Our competitive swimmers travelled to Pongakawa for their races, while the rest of the swimmers competed in races in our school pool.  Well done to the Room Four Tigers for winning the points competition.

In week 5, we also travelled went on a trip to a worm farm and the Awakeri hot pools.  At the worm farm, we learnt about how a worm farm works, and we got to hold the worms too! They were very wriggly!

Unstoppables Prizegiving

On Wednesday night we held our Senior Prizegiving.  It was a great night to celebrate our amazing achievers.  As well as giving out many awards and cups, we had performances from the kapahaka group, choir, middle and senior jump jam teams and Briarna's winning speech.

Well done to all the award winners for their hard work and achievement!

A Day at the BEACH

Today the whole school went to the beach. We travelled by bus to Pilot Bay, in Mount Maunganui for a day of fun beach activities.

The Unstoppables walked up the mount and then had a swim.  It was hard work to walk up the mount, but it was a great view at the top!

Thanks to all of the parent helpers for giving up their time to come along.

Te Puke's Got Talent!

On Friday we held our annual Te Puke's Got Talent final.  The three judges, Miss Jones, Mrs Stewart and Mr Larsen had a tough job on their hands due to the overwhelming talent we have at Te Puke Primary School.

The Unstoppables did very well when the final results were read: 4th place for the dancing talents of Kereru, Stephen and Simranjeet, 2nd place for Brianna (taking on an Adele song) and 1st place for Hunter and Pena, singing a Bruno Mars song.

If you missed all the action, make sure you come to our Christmas in the Park, Monday night of Week 8, Term Four, where you can see the placegetters (or is it placees Mrs Stewart?) perform on the big stage.

Congratulations again to everyone who took part!
